What got you into the business in the first place?

It all started when I was looking for an alternative to getting into the business school at UMass. The Sports Management program had a ton of business classes and it was in “sports” so how could you go wrong. My internship was with my childhood idols “Boston Celtics” where I worked in PR and attended every game in one of the final years of the original Big 3. After that I was hooked

Who was a big influence in your career?

To pick just one person would be difficult, from my professors at UMass, to Jeff Twiss / Wayne Levy at the Boston Celtics, Bernie Mullin at the Rockies / Denver Grizzlies, Mike Fox and Barney Levengood at Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome and Tracy Harris / Mike Webster at Advanstar all have had a hand in shaping my career in one form or fashion.

What was “your finest moment”, the thing you’re most proud of?

That’s a tough one, I’ve been fortunate in my career to have worked on some awesome events with some really great people so picking “my” finest moment would be tough as success is very rarely an “individual” accomplishment in this business.

What was your most embarrassing moment in this business?

Something that can’t be shared here, but let’s just say it occurred during the AVN show in Vegas.

Is there a great client story you’d care to share?

I’ve been fortunate to be involved with many awesome clients and have built some long standing friendships with them. Again, to choose one would be difficult.

What attracted you to Adstrategies?

They were our agency of record for the International Motorcycle Shows and so I was familiar with the management team, their values, work ethic and customer service. They are specialists in the event industry which I love and I felt being a part of their team would be a great fit.

Do you have a method of coming up with ideas and solutions for clients?

Get to know them and their business and find out what their goals and objectives are. Ask a lot of questions and LISTEN to their responses. After that you’ll have the framework you need.

What makes a great brand?

One that stands the test of time and still brings instant recognition when spoken i.e. Coke / Harley Davidson

What driving career goals do you still have?

Always striving to make my clients and customers happy. I love big events and I’ve always wanted to have a hand in running the Super Bowl and / or Olympics – maybe now I’ll just go after their media programs

What talent do you wish you had?

Speed reading, being able to dunk a basketball wouldn’t be bad either.

If you had to live on a desert island, what would you miss most?

My wife and kids.

Is there any food that helps you think more creatively?

Food – no, but a good bottle of wine – yes!

What’s your favorite sports team?

Professionally anything Boston – but if I had to choose I’d say the Sox!

What frustrates you the most?

Not being able to master technology.

What’s your point of view about politics?

They are a necessary evil and one that can’t be avoided.

Tell us about your pets?

I have 2 cats (Sam / Max) and a puppy (Gracie)

What’s your favorite TV program?

There are many but if I had to choose on it would be Son’s of Anarchy. The only one my wife doesn’t watch with me.

What do you do for a good time when you’re not working?

Spend time with my family, my kids are 6 & 8 and at a really fun age and changing every day. Sneaking in a round of golf is always a bonus.

What was college like for you?

College was great, because I didn’t go straight from High School I had a much greater appreciation and focus for the task at hand. I also tended bar at the hottest spot on campus so that didn’t hurt.

What are your favorite internet sites

AA.com, the weather channel, ESPN.com CBS sports – need my travel and sports updates.
